University Application Steps

The application process for universities in Georgia can be summarized in 10 steps:

1. Application to the University:
The student fills out the application form and submits all necessary documents translated into Georgian and notarized.

2. Initial Acceptance:
The university reviews the submitted documents and schedules an online interview.

3. Personal Interview:
The interview is conducted online via Zoom or Skype and is recorded. During this interview, the university representative assesses the student’s language proficiency, which may exempt the student from taking a language test if their language skills are deemed sufficient.

4. English Language Test:
This step is not required for all students. If the student demonstrates strong language skills during the interview or has a language certificate, they may be exempt from the test.

5. Entrance Exam:
This exam is generally required for health and engineering-related programs to ensure the student has sufficient knowledge in fundamental subjects like biology, chemistry, and physics.

6. University Admission:
After successfully completing the interview and exams, the university will issue a decision regarding the student’s admission. The student will then need to obtain ministerial approval.

7. Ministerial Approval:
Here, the student or the registration officer submits all necessary documents for the secondary school certificate equivalency and pays the processing fee to the Education Quality Development Center to obtain the ministerial approval.

8. Accreditation of Admission:
After receiving the ministerial approval, the registration officer submits the approval letter along with the student’s documents to the university for accreditation and signature by the Dean of the faculty.

9. Invitation Letter:
Once the student is officially admitted, they can apply for a study invitation letter.

10. Student Visa:
After receiving the study invitation letter, the student is eligible to apply for a student visa at the nearest Georgian embassy or consulate.
